An official OpenAI account on X was taken over to hawk a cryptocurrency rip-off on Monday night.

On Monday at 6:24PM ET, the @OpenAINewsroom account, which shares information from OpenAI and has practically 54,000 followers, made a now-deleted put up promoting an “$OPENAI” token.

“We’re very blissful to announce $OPEANAI: the token bridging the hole between Al and blockchain expertise,” the put up mentioned. “All OpenAI customers are eligible to assert a bit of $OPENAI’s preliminary provide.
