The sport between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees was postponed due to heavy rain on Saturday.
The postponement was introduced about 3 1/2 hours earlier than Saturday’s authentic first pitch and shall be made up as a part of a straight doubleheader on Sunday at Yankee Stadium.
Max Fried was slated to oppose Toronto’s Kevin Gausman on Saturday and can pitch Sunday. The opposite authentic pitching matchup for Sunday was Clarke Schmidt in opposition to Toronto’s Chris Bassitt.
The Blue Jays snapped a five-game shedding streak by scoring three runs within the ninth inning off struggling nearer Devin Williams in Friday’s 4-2 victory.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homered and Alejandro Kirk hit a go-ahead two-run double off Williams.
Williams didn’t retire a batter and blew his first save in 5 alternatives. The best-hander has an 11.25 ERA in 10 appearances and opponents are 6-for-22 (.285) off his changeup.
