The Milwaukee Brewers acquired Nick Mears from the Colorado Rockies on Saturday in alternate for fellow right-handers Bradley Blalock and Yujanyer Herrera.
Mears, 27, went 1-4 with a 5.56 ERA in 41 reduction appearances for Colorado this season. He’s in his fifth main league season, popping out of the bullpen in 93 video games for the Pittsburgh Pirates (2020-22) and Rockies (2023-24).
In these outings, Mears has gone 2-5 with a 4.93 ERA.
The 23-year-old Blalock was Milwaukee’s No. 17 prospect, in response to MLB Pipeline. He made his main league debut with the Brewers on June 20, pitching a scoreless inning in his solely look.
Blaylock went 5-2 with a 4.08 ERA in 16 begins at Double-A Biloxi this 12 months.
Herrera, 20, hung out with low Class-A Carolina and excessive Class-A Wisconsin this season, compiling a 9-1 file with a 2.91 ERA in 16 appearances (9 begins). He has not but appeared within the majors.
