“Beginning with Beginning with the Flip6, Fold6 and newer fashions, the Samsung Messages app will not be preloaded,” reads a Samsung message posted by Android leaker Max Weinbach. “As a substitute, Google Messages will present a brand new and enhanced expertise to specific your feelings, making communication secure and enjoyable.”
Google Messages has been the default for Samsung telephones since 2022 when Samsung made the change, which was a boon for RCS messaging.
Whereas Samsung didn’t explicitly say it, the change solely applies to telephones bought within the US, in accordance with Mishaal Rahman, who often studies on Android rumors. Rahman says that variations of the foldables purchased in Canada and Europe will nonetheless include the app put in.
