Inventive director Hedi Slimane is leaving Celine after seven years on the helm, its proprietor LVMH has introduced.Â
Slimane joined as Celine as creative, inventive and picture director in February 2018, following the departure of Phoebe Philo.
He was beforehand creative director of menswear at Kering-owned Yves Saint Laurent till 2000, when he joined Dior Homme.
Slimane left Dior in 2007 and returned to Yves Saint Laurent in 2012 as inventive director, later departing the enterprise in 2016.
His function at Celine has encompassed a wider remit for luxurious vogue home, having been charged with extending the model into menswear, couture and fragrances.
“Below his inventive and creative path, Celine has skilled distinctive development and established itself as an iconic French couture home,” Celine mentioned in an announcement on Wednesday.
“The extraordinary journey taken collectively over the past seven years has made Celine a home with a formidable basis for the long run.” No title of a successor has been introduced.
