Mikaela Shiffrin sustained a puncture wound to the appropriate facet of her stomach and extreme muscle trauma following her crash throughout a large slalom race in Killington, Vt., the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Group mentioned Sunday.

“There was no ligament harm assessed. Bones and inside organs look OK,” U.S. Ski & Snowboard workforce wrote on Twitter.
On Saturday, Shiffrin posted a video to social media to replace her followers on her situation. The 29-year-old mentioned she “simply cannot transfer,” including that she had an abrasion and “one thing stabbed me.”

Per U.S. Ski & Snowboard Group, a return date for Shiffrin has not but been decided.
Shiffrin, 29, has received all 4 slaloms during which she’s competed since getting back from a knee damage following a downhill crash in January.
On March 11, 2023, in Are, Sweden, Shiffrin received her 87th World Cup race to interrupt the file held by Ingemar Stenmark of Austria.
