The Baltimore Orioles positioned right-hander Corbin Burnes on the paternity listing Friday and recalled left-hander Matt Krook from Triple-A Norfolk.
Burnes, 29, gave up one run on 9 hits over seven innings in a win in opposition to the Texas Rangers on Thursday as he improved to 9-3 and lowered his ERA to 2.28. The 2021 Nationwide League Cy Younger Award winner for the Milwaukee Brewers is in his first season with the Orioles.
The MLB paternity listing permits gamers to overlook as much as three video games, with Burnes not anticipated to pitch in that point anyway.
The transfer does afford the 29-year-old Krook an opportunity to make his Orioles debut. Krook was roughed up for 11 runs in 4 reduction outings with the New York Yankees final season as he appeared within the main leagues for the primary time.
In 26 reduction outings at Triple-A this season, Krook is 2-2 with a 3.71 ERA.
