Donald Trump on Monday referred to as the Olympics opening ceremony in Paris a “shame,” after its creators got here beneath fireplace for what some stated was a present gone too far.
“I am very open-minded however I believed what they did was a shame,” Trump advised Fox Information.
His feedback adopted condemnation from Catholic teams and French bishops of a ceremony scene involving dancers, drag queens and a DJ in poses that appeared to recall depictions of the Final Supper, though creators have stated it was not meant to characterize the non secular setting.
The sequence drew worldwide criticism from Christian teams and far-right politicians on social media.
When requested by host Laura Ingraham what he would do if he is reelected president in time for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, Trump replied: “We cannot be having a ‘Final Supper’ as portrayed the way in which they portrayed it final evening.”
Thomas Jolly, the director of the opening ceremony, later responded to criticism by saying he supposed for the manufacturing to “reconcile” and “restore.”
